The International Associate Merchant is responsible for supporting the execution of creative product development, maintaining seasonal line plans, and driving category strategies across international markets. This role partners closely with Omni Merchandising, International Commercialization, Planning & Inventory, Visual Merchandising & Marketing, and franchise partners to deliver localized assortments that support sales and profit growth while maintaining brand consistency.
The International Associate Merchant helps drive the commercialization of new product launches, analyzes market and consumer insights, and identifies opportunities to optimize assortment strategies across diverse global markets.
 

 Responsibilities

Specifically, this position will:
•    Work alongside Senior Merchant on growth-driving international brand strategies, including product assortment planning, localization opportunities, pricing architecture, gifting initiatives, and category development
•    Support the development and execution of seasonal international line plans that align with brand objectives while addressing regional market needs
•    Responsible for accurately coordinating international product development projects, including process documentation, product briefs, launch planning, assortment tools (Excel Roadmap, Centric system, etc.), and market-specific requests
•    Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure international launches are executed on time and aligned with brand standards
•    Seek alignment on product descriptions, claims, packaging, and aesthetic direction while considering regional requirements and customer preferences
•    Collaborate with Commercialization Services and Omni Operations to supervise timelines, communicate risks, and drive key deliverables on schedule
•    Support the Merchant in developing international assortments that balance global consistency with localized opportunities
•    Analyze sales results, productivity metrics, customer insights, and franchise feedback to identify opportunities and make recommendations that drive business performance
•    Present and support the creation of executive and cross-functional presentations, including seasonal strategies, launch recaps, business analyses, and market opportunities
•    Serve as a key resource for cross-functional partners by maintaining expertise in assigned categories and international business requirements
•    Support international launch meetings, assortment reviews, sample management, and post-launch performance evaluations
•    Become the authority in international market intelligence by understanding competitive assortments, pricing structures, promotional strategies, emerging trends, and customer behaviors across key global markets
•    Partner with franchise teams and regional stakeholders to proactively collect customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience
•    Drive product assortment strategies for Travel Retail and Military businesses based on market performance and consumer insights working with the Commercial Manager 
•    Maintain awareness of cultural, seasonal, and regional differences that may impact product performance and launch strategies
 

 Qualifications

•    3-5 years of related work experience in merchandising, merchandise buying, brand development, international business, retail management, or category management
•    Strong understanding of merchandising principles, retail math, and assortment planning
•    Demonstrates strong knowledge of consumer and marketplace trends and can creatively translate insights into strategies that drive business results
•    Experience analyzing consumer, product, and market data to identify opportunities and develop recommendations
•    Capability to take direction under moderate supervision while independently managing projects and priorities
•    Passion for product innovation and delivering exceptional customer experiences
•    Ability to lead through ambiguity, solve problems, and influence cross-functional teams
•    Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
•    Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
•    Ability to work effectively across different cultures, markets, and business partners
•    Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate work
•    Systems and computer proficiency (MS Office Suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
•    Experience working with international markets, franchise partners, or global business operations is preferred
