The Applications Analyst on the MP&A (Merchandise Planning & Allocation) Technology team partners with planning, allocation, and inventory teams to deliver and support the applications that get the right product to the right place at the right time! The MP&A function spans forecasting, replenishment, allocation, merchandise financial planning, and space planning across domestic and international markets, supported by packaged, vendor-hosted, and custom-built applications. Success in this role comes from learning quickly and collaborating well: you'll build domain expertise through hands-on work and cross-training while working side by side with business, technology, and vendor partners. Experience with our current applications, including RELEX, JDA, and our custom-built planning tools, is a plus but not required.

 Responsibilities

 Business Partnership & Solution Delivery
•    Serve as functional lead for assigned work streams within MP&A projects across forecasting, replenishment, allocation, merchandise financial planning, and space planning, leading small to mid-size project segments, including test, cutover, and controlled start planning.
•    Translate business requests across planning, allocation, forecasting, and replenishment into functional requirements, scope, and design documents; for custom-built applications, partner with development teams to define enhancements and validate builds against business needs.
•    Create and maintain functional design, configuration, and documentation, aligning with technical teams and documenting impacts to adjoining systems and data flows.
•    Lead review sessions with business users and technical teams, summarizing options, benefits, and trade-offs; drive work stream timelines with project managers and communicate status, risks, and issues.

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
•    Provide maintenance and operational support for MP&A applications across domestic and international markets, including on-call support, within defined SLAs.
•    Research and triage new or complex issues, including those spanning multiple applications; manage elevated issues and status communication.
•    Maintain accurate SOPs and support documentation for all changes, and coordinate planned maintenance and outages with business users and technical teams.
•    Support smooth handoffs from implementation to operations, including post-production issue ownership, and analyze trends, tickets, and metrics to recommend improvements in quality, speed, and efficiency.
•    Build working knowledge of MP&A applications, data, and processes through hands-on work, cross-training, and sharing of knowledge with senior team members and business partners.

Testing, Training & Vendor Engagement
•    Contribute to test planning and execution (TUT, FIT, SIT, UAT), including scenarios, test data, regression impacts, and defect resolution.
•    Prepare user documentation and deliver training to business partners; engage application vendors on estimation, scheduling, issues, and risk management.

•    Experience with RELEX, JDA (Blue Yonder), or comparable planning solutions (e.g., o9, Oracle Retail, SAP); supporting custom-built applications with development teams; or international, multi-market, or retail environments is a plus.
•    Domain expertise in at least one enterprise application and working knowledge across multiple business functions.
•    Experience authoring requirements and functional designs, configuring applications, and supporting testing across the SDLC (Agile and/or Waterfall).
•    Strong data and analytical skills; comfort working with large data sets, SQL, or Excel to validate results and investigate issues.
