The Associate Planner, Merchandise Testing supports the execution of testing initiatives across the U.S. domestic business, with a primary focus on store performance. This role is responsible for organizing, tracking, and analyzing test activity to ensure timely and accurate execution, along with implementation into the business.

This role plays a key role in maintaining testing deliverables such as managing test details, sustaining processes, and delivering data and insights that support category planning teams in making informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

Testing Execution & Coordination

  • Execute and support day-to-day testing activities, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
  • Track test progress, key milestones, and action items across cross-functional partners
  • Maintain organized testing files, trackers, and documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Help coordinate inputs and outputs across Marketing, Digital, Store Operations, and Planning teams

Analysis & Reporting

  • Compile and analyze test results and basic performance metrics
  • Support evaluation of test performance by comparing results and identifying key takeaways
  • Prepare recurring reports and summaries for team and leadership reviews
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting

Planning Support

  • Support category planning partners by providing test insights, data, and reporting
  • Assist with forecast updates and hindsight analysis based on test learnings
  • Help incorporate trends, promotional activity, and assortment changes into ongoing work

Process & Organization

  • Maintain and improve testing processes, timelines, and tracking tools
  • Ensure work is completed accurately, on time, and aligned to team priorities
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in processes and escalate as needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Merchandising, Central Planning, Visual, Marketing, and Store Operations teams
  • Follow up with partners to gather input, answer questions, and keep working forward
  • Support coordination with external testing partners (e.g., Test & Learn vendors)

Qualifications

  • 1-2 Years of merchandise planning, analytics, or related field
  • Strong Excel skills (data organization, formulas, basic analysis)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines
  • High sense of urgency; proactively follows up and pushes work to completion
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in data and reporting
  • Execution-focused, able to manage through day-to-day tasks with consistency
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Clear and direct communication, with willingness to ask questions and escalate issues
  • Demonstrates curiosity and a desire to learn within testing and planning

Preferred:

  • Retail or merchandise planning experience
  • Exposure to analytics or testing environments
  • Experience with data tools or platforms such as EDW, MicroStrategy, or Mastercard Test & Learn TM

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
