You will be responsible for working with customers to identify future supply chain requirements. This will include procurement runs of components to make product in conjunction with scheduling production of the finished product at our vendors. Ensuring that the finished product is delivered to customer warehouses in a timely manner and works in conjunction with customers to prioritize production and working cross-functionally with internal teams to support production and flow. Lastly, it will require the responsibility for the data integrity of our Material Requirement Planning (MRP) that will enable a consistent planning horizon and identifying and implementing speed initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Vendor Management
- Responsible for issuing component and finished good PO’s and the deliberations with vendors to secure production
- Handles scheduling while balancing priority between vendor base and MP&A
- Ensure vendor On Time & Complete accountability at 95% or higher
- Expediting shipments /production to meet speed initiatives
- Completes short-term and long-term capacity planning
- Communicates new launch forecasts and medium range receipt plans
Brand Management
- To form relationships as a trusted advisor to cross functional teams
- Handles speed to market initiatives
- Responsible for communicating/updating changes to open orders – status reporting to retail partners – (OT&C accountability at 95%)
- Review & communicate feasibility & timing for all buy requests
- Informs retail partners of use of excess inventory in Semi Annual Sales and Clearance buys; assist with component run-outs to reduce inventory liability
- Partners with Retail to develop new launch and medium range receipt plan
Speed and Agility
- Understand and supports business as well as process changes related to Speed
- Finds opportunities to reduce lead times and gain agility within the supply chain
Inventory Management
- Complete buys using SAP MRP ensuring all master data is accurate and timely
- Lead to component inventory targets
- Handles detailed Bill of Material (BOM) accuracy including waste factors and usage
- Works closely with Inventory Control during Book to Book to identify/resolve BOM issues
- Provides Inventory Control with support needed to resolve PI/B2B issues
- Involved in quarterly review of Excess & Obsolete reconciliation and provides explanations/reasons for excess inventory with partnership with retail partners
- Participates in end of season inventory management planning; ad hoc cycle counts and run outs to reduce liability
- Responsible for analyzing data, reviewing reports and resolving issues to maintain a clean Book of Business with focus on inventory turns
Talent Management & Development
- Creation and execution of Individual Development Plan (IDP) / Personal Performance Objectives (PPO’s) / Quarterly Connects / Performance Review in accordance with the performance management life cycle process
- Identify continuous learning opportunities for own development (ie. Learning Manager, attend other meetings to gain insights, job shadowing, vendor visits)
- Participate in regular touch-bases with manager as well as cross functional partners
- Train cross functional partners and participate in onboarding initiatives when appropriate
- 3 – 5 years of production planning / supply chain / inventory management experience
- Experience in manufacturing and/or consumer goods/retail preferred
- Shown discernment and ability to make recommendations and business decisions with supervisor
- System and computer proficiency (SAP, MSOffice, MS Dossier)
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with demonstrated initiative and ability to achieve results
- Ability to build and develop strong trusted advisor relationships with internal as well as external partners
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field
- APICS, CPIM a plus
