Individual contributor responsible for supporting the package development process on a tactical level and through specialty projects with a focus on sustainable initiatives; provide systems support, coordination, and project management guidance over primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging. This position will work in a collaborative environment with partners in Design, Merchandising, Operations, Quality, Safety and Regulatory, Strategic Sourcing, as well as key vendors. As a trusted partner to the business and the vendor network this role is responsible for supporting and learning the package development process, including, but not limited to technical drawing review, fit and function evaluation, prequalification and validation, tooling reviews, creation of test procedures, and materials. This role also participates in supplier relations by engaging in the investigative study of packaging options for projects and representing Bath & Body Works packaging through an engineering project management lens.

Responsibilities

Package Development/Execution

·         Support the packaging execution and development of assigned programs, including tactical tasks and system data entry

·         Navigate sustainability legislation and guidance to ensure packaging development is in line with state, country, and international ESG initiatives

·         Coordinate development of specifications with suppliers to ensure proper functionality and aesthetics

·         Research alternative packaging materials, and coordinate/implement test plans for implementation

·         Develop filling specifications in PLM with contract fillers, consistent with manufacturing capabilities and requirements

·         Develop and route BOM in PLM for all new products

·         Direct engagement with vendors, Merchants, and Designers to support component development for new products and new designs

·         Support component tooling qualification and production start-ups with on-site support

·         Partnership with Commercialization Services Group for coordination of timeline and project execution with external clients and cross-functional teams

Talent Management

·         Creation and execution of personal performance goals

·         Identify continuous learning opportunities for self (i.e. Bath & Body Works Training guides, job shadowing, etc…)

·         Complete onboarding activities

·         Assist in onboarding new associates

·         Establish relationship with internal cross functional teams – Global Vendor Management, Operations, Commercialization Services Group, Design, Merchandising, etc…

Qualifications

·         2+ years’ related engineering experience

·         Experience in manufacturing and/or consumer goods/retail a plus

·         Experience with packaging sustainability, EPR regulations, the APR Design Guide, and/or MRF sortation processes is a plus

·         Ability to present sophisticated information to non-technical cross functional associates

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shown initiative and ability to achieve results

·         Ability to build and cultivate strong trusted advisor relationships with internal and external partners

·         System and computer proficiency

Education

·         BS Engineering, preferably in Packaging, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
