As a Senior Community Relations Specialist, you will play a critical role in activating our associates to make significant impact through volunteerism, giving campaigns, and engagement programs. You will bring creativity, collaboration, and heart to the table as you help drive our associate-facing philanthropic initiatives. This position works closely with internal partners and established nonprofit organizations to bring our purpose to life through community action and helps create a culture where everyone feels empowered and inspired to give back. You will work in close partnership with the Sr. Manager and AVP to deliver against community engagement goals, demonstrating established partners to offer dynamic and comprehensive opportunities for associates.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning –
- Design and drive creative associate engagement strategies that align with enterprise-wide priorities and community impact goals.
- Analyze program performance and philanthropic metrics to generate insights and advise future efforts, reporting results to all partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve systems, streamline processes, and ensure associate engagement efforts are impactful, scalable, and efficient.
- Research and develop platform and program to support volunteer and engagement efforts for field-based associates (stores and distribution centers).
- Inspire and equip internal teams to champion community involvement by embedding philanthropy into the associate experience and by educating them on nonprofit missions, community needs, and the importance of getting involved.
- Regularly share community engagement opportunities and success narratives that build a strong culture of giving.
Program, Event & Campaign Management –
- Be responsible for the completion of all associate-facing philanthropy programs including giving campaigns, events (e.g., Pelotonia, Holiday Giving) and volunteerism.
- Lead day-to-day responsibilities with our volunteer platform partner and explore innovative ways to connect associates to community opportunities.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver impactful recognition and incentive programs that celebrate associate contributions.
- Partner with internal teams—including Communications, Sustainability and Culture & Engagement, Stores, and Logistics—to support storytelling, build awareness, incorporate give-back efforts into larger company activations.
- Serve as a key communication link for nonprofit partners tied to associate engagement campaigns—building on existing partnerships to co-create important, relevant engagement opportunities.
Other –
- Support team members across the department as needed to ensure program success and smooth execution of all initiatives.
- Serve as the first point of contact for associate and community inquiries related to volunteerism or engagement campaigns, advising questions or requests appropriately.
- Represent Community Relations at local nonprofit meetings and BBW events, serving as a visible ambassador of the company’s philanthropic mission.
- Support department-wide operations, including supervising general inboxes, responding to questions, and coordinating logistics for select programs and events.
- 3-5 years of shown experience in corporate social responsibility, nonprofit, or community relations roles (or equivalent experience). Experience with grants or volunteer platforms is a plus
- Deep understanding of community engagement trends and ability to connect programs to brand purpose and employee values
- Shown success conceptualizing, leading, and driving community programs—independently or with a cross-functional team
- Ability to run sophisticated projects, prioritize contending demands, and anticipate potential roadblocks with solutions in mind
- Demonstrates strong communication, relationship-building, time management, and storytelling abilities
- Team-oriented, proactive, and culturally proficient teammate who excels in a dynamic environment
- Expertly handling sensitive or high-visibility topics with strength, professionalism, and keen insight
- Ability to travel locally up to 20% and lift to 15 lbs. (product boxes for donation or event setup)
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Community Relations, Program Management, or related field preferred; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
