As the Community Relations & Philanthropy Senior Specialist, you will be responsible for driving Bath & Body Works’ corporate social impact initiatives, including associate engagement programs, annual giving campaigns, volunteerism, in-kind product donations, and donor relations. The Senior Specialist role will serve as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders and will support the overall impact of Bath & Body Works’ philanthropic investments.
Strategy and Planning
- Assist in ideating projects in collaboration with key internal partners by supporting the strategy related to social responsibility, DE&I, field, logistics and other departments that are aligned with the broader business strategies and goals.
- Collect content for ESG and other reporting needs, while analyzing program performance to make data-driven recommendations.
- Identify and implement process improvements and resources needed to streamline operations and enhance the efficiency of programs.
- Regularly promote philanthropic impact by collaborating with internal and external partners to conceptualise and create content to support storytelling.
Program Management
- Lead all aspects of company giving campaigns and associate volunteer programs to ensure success with partners both internally externally.
- Be responsible for the execution of Bath & Body Works’ volunteer program in partnership with volunteer platform partner, identifying innovative opportunities for associate engagement and large-scale impact projects.
- Coordinate volunteer incentives program and lead event sponsorship benefits including management of the Bath & Body Works suite in connection with sporting and other events.
- Collaborate with the communication teams to collect content for storytelling on social media, web content, calendars and other communication materials pertaining to volunteerism, community programs and events.
- Lead in-kind product donations program in partnership with internal and external parties, handle in-kind gift requests and maintain impact data.
- Drive process improvements and tools for efficient tracking and reporting of volunteerism and other philanthropic metrics.
Teaming and Leadership
- Support the Sr. Manager in day-to-day activities.
- Support the AVP with grants administration related to the Bath & Body Works Foundation and Advisory Board.
- Develop and sustain relationships with program partners and community stakeholders
- Responds to inquiries from community members and other interested parties; when needed, recruits a knowledgeable spokesperson or information source to assist.
- Serve as a key liaison to community partners, learning standard processes, enhancing nonprofit partnerships, and finding opportunities to address emerging community needs.
- Assist with department management, including monitoring and responding to various inquiries and other support as needed.
- Represent Community Relations & Philanthropy at various company and non-profit events in home office communities, acting as an ambassador for Bath & Body Works’ community impact efforts
- 3-5 years of philanthropic/community relations experience with a not-for-profit organization or corporate community relations (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrates ability to lead cross-functional projects, with a focus on measurable outcomes
- Experience working with grant management systems and impact reporting tools
- Embodies and role models our values and actively helps shape a healthy culture
- Strategic problem solver with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Capability to develop and complete strategies and plans on deadline and with excellence
- Excellent team orientation and partnering skills
- Ability to proactively manage priorities and deadlines calmly in a fast-paced, high volume environment while forecasting potential outcomes, providing alternative solutions
- Exceptional calendar and time management skills
- Understands the brand ethos and aligns community relations strategies accordingly
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive or controversial subjects with tact, kindness, and professionalism
- Ability to travel 20% of the time
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Education
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably community relations, program management, or related field; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
