Individual contributor position responsible for assisting the Chef with food preparation and menu planning. Has oversight of front-line associates to ensure service standards are met. Creates an optimal customer service environment demonstrated by prompt service, quality food, and a clean and safe Foodservice Operation.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for general cooking duties in preparing food items (grill, stir-fry etc.) for all production areas including Mobile Order Delivery
- Prepares or directs preparation of catering menu items according to prescribed menus and recipes. Works with client to develop menu according to food cost, sets up and breaks down caterings as needed.
- Oversees sanitation and food safety standards for each Café operation in Food Services department including Distribution Center breakrooms as specified in the Daily Service Audits and act on Corrective Action Item(s) for any safety variance.
- Lead, engage and develop teams, including training, coaching, and managing performance. Coach associates by creating shared understanding of core values, competencies, and 6 E’s of Excellence.
- Ensure cleanliness and high Food Safety standards in addition to handling of all food products and equipment are maintained at all times to ensure food safety and kitchen standards are adhered to.
- Assists with miscellaneous Café projects and BBW initiatives.
- Responsible for inventory management and ordering and ensuring there are daily sufficient prepped foods to ensure the Café can run efficiently
- Partners with Cook II’s to develop daily specials and or price menus as well as partnering with Chef Managers to set and maintain service standards.
- Assists Chef Managers with the standardization and documentation of recipes, in addition to the selection and development of recipes and establishing production levels and inventory control
- Oversight of multiple service stations and will lead the team in the presence or absence of Chef Managers.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality
- 3-5 years of Culinary experience in addition to 1-2 years of both staff and business leadership experience preferred
- Must be Level II Serve Safe Certified within 90 days of hire.
- Demonstrated exp. with inventory management and ordering.
- Job requires the ability to lift 30lbs
- Must be able to stand for 7.5-hour shifts

Education
- Culinary Degree or associate’s degree in related field preferred but not required
- Food and safety sanitation certification preferred
