The Banking Cash Management Accountant is responsible for organizational auditing, executing, and documenting of accounting practices and projects with internal controls. Key projects and responsibilities may include activities such as: account reconciliations, payment of business licenses and vendor invoices, new store set up, policy audit and compliance for cash reconciliations for store bank accounts. The accountant will provide technical and analytical support in the areas of financial accounting and internal controls as it relates to the companies accounting and financial systems and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely recording of stores’ cash activity from Point of Sale (POS) and bank within compliance with internal SOX, Anti-Corruptions and Operational Controls for (1) general ledger accuracy (2) P&L accuracy (3) audit accuracy and (4) reporting accuracy
  • Ensure that all month-end accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations are performed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Identify irregularities and variances against audit and controls criteria for store cash overages/shortages and deposit adjustments
  • Independently and proactively resolve discrepancies using financial analytics and related techniques
  • Follow up on all outstanding issues on a timely basis while providing excellent customer service and maintaining vendor relations
  • Respond to internal customer requests, supplier inquiries, and internal/external audit questions
  • Identify areas of opportunity and recommend solutions for achieving optimal efficiency and effectiveness
  • Assist with special projects, departmental goals, and ad-hoc analysis
  • Maintain high level of productivity
  • Ensure adherence to departmental, ethical, and legal standards and controls.

Qualifications

  • One to three years accounting or related experience in accounting, accounts payable, or finance
  • Experience in journal entry preparation, auditing, and balance sheet reconciliation preferred
  • SAP experience beneficial
  • Intermediate/Sophisticated PC Skills – Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong reconciliation and critical thinking skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
