The Manager, International Merchandise Operations serves as the central connection point between Global Merchandising and the Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, and Trademark teams. This role ensures that all merchandise entering international markets meets legal standards, regulatory requirements, brand protection guidelines, and marketplace‑specific rules. The manager oversees the international Floorset calendar and key merchandise milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the international Floorset calendar and key merchandise achievements.
  • Ensure merchandise entering international markets meets legal and regulatory standards.

Regulatory, Compliance & Trademark Liaison

  • Act as the primary operational liaison between Merchandising and key governance functions, including Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Product Safety, and Trademark/IP.
  • Coordinate the end‑to‑end process for regulatory reviews, approvals, and documentation required for international assortments.
  • Ensure trademark usage, brand claims, packaging language, and product descriptions meet all legal and IP guidelines before market release.
  • Facilitate communication between markets and compliance partners to resolve issues quickly and ensure product readiness.

Operational Risk Management

  • Identify potential compliance risks early in the merchandising cycle and drive cross‑functional actions to mitigate them.
  • Maintain a market‑specific regulatory matrix with critical requirements, renewal timelines, and language/packaging mandates.
  • Support global risk assessments and ensure that product-related decisions align with legal requirements.

Process Development & Governance

  • Build and standardize global compliance processes embedded in the merchandise planning and item setup calendar.
  • Establish and enforce paths for addressing customer concerns related to regulatory or compliance issues affecting seasonal timelines.

Cross‑Functional Leadership & Communication

  • Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Sourcing, Regulatory, Quality, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure clarity of requirements and timely approvals.
  • Serve as the voice of operational compliance during seasonal achievement meetings.
  • Translate legal and regulatory mentorship into actionable merchandising workflows for global and regional teams.

Data, Reporting & Audit Support

  • Maintain centralized reporting of all regulatory, trademark, and quality concerns to ensure full cross‑functional visibility, alignment, and timely issue resolution.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of related work experience in retail roles relating to the areas of Merchandising, and/or Product Development
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead projects from initial scope through implementation and assessment
  • Experience in personal care or home fragrance preferred but not required
  • Understanding of end-to-end business processes, cross functional responsibilities and process dependencies
  • Collaboration focused individual with ability to build alignment and work towards resolution
  • Ability to build, implement and communicate new processes
  • Consistent track record of leading people OR influencing others outside of the team
  • Ability to partner and communicate cross-functionally to establish relationships with peers, the team and leadership
  • Software and computer proficiency (MS Office, Outlook, Excel)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
