Part of the Global Vendor Management Sourcing team focusing on Value Engineering. The Value Engineering team’s goal is to improve the supply chain by implementing strategies, managing risks, growing speed, expanding capacity, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. The team manages many complex projects that span across the business (raw materials, componentry, filling, logistics, warehouse, direct channel, and stores). Key responsibilities include supporting cost engineering and efficiency opportunities, end-to-end data analysis, project management across various teams, obtaining RFQs (request for quote), and both internal and vendor communication.

Responsibilities

Value Engineering:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and vendors to influence impacts to business
  • Create cases and present them to leadership when necessary
  • Gather and analyze vendor quotes in support of projects
  • Follow up on information related to RFQ process with vendor
  • Ensure that end value and all project assumptions were satisfied
  • Analyzing cost increase requests
  • Tracking all the Value Engineering projects in support of annual goals
  • Ensure project dates and targets are met
  • Maintain, extract data in business systems
  • Provide outstanding support to internal cross functional partners
  • This role requires someone who is extremely detailed oriented
  • Exceptional project management expertise is needed (awareness of landmarks, deadlines, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills are required
  • RFQ Database and SAP reporting
  • Strong experience within Excel is preferred (ideally with experience with pivot tables)

Key Projects:

  • Drive Value Engineering (VE) project execution & other critical initiatives
  • Track Vendor Value Engineering cost savings goals and translate into necessary dashboard reporting
  • Primary will be responsible for execution of existing projects but also the identification and evaluation of new projects (Ideation)
  • Communicate to broader Sourcing teams on project status

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ work experience in Purchasing, Operations Planning, Package/Supply Chain Engineering, and/or Strategic Sourcing positions
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or consumer goods/retail preferred
  • Solid business sense and ability to make recommendations and business decisions with manager
  • Moderate to high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with SAP, Ariba, Salesforce, or other ERP systems is beneficial
  • Capability to thrive in a dynamic setting with proven proactivity and achievement capabilities
  • Skill in developing and cultivating strong trusted advisor relationships with internal and external partners.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business / Finance / Economics / Engineering / Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, related field or MBA is a plus
  • Supply Chain or Project Management certifications a plus
