Overview:

Our Quality Engineer I, supports our Soaps and Sanitizer business. This is an individual contributor position responsible for performing evaluations and supporting inspections of individual components, raw materials, and finished product compliance. Often working directly with suppliers to determine compliance of processes and products to established specifications. Prepares and maintains appropriate reports and analysis of findings. Reports non-compliance to team or takes appropriate action when data indicates non-compliance. Collaborates with suppliers and appropriate cross functional teams to develop and share quality expectations with holistically. Supports QA as needed. 

Responsibilities

QA Program Execution

  • Collaborate in new project risk assessment (design, package, formula, etc.) to evaluate risks and initiate contingency plans.
  • Assist in scale-up production of new and/or reformulated products and support qualification line trials as needed.
  • Investigate process or product deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate test data gathered or received by supplier for compliance to standards.
  • Support QA Lab on supplier first production submissions for approval.

Quality Control Issue Management

  • Provide technical root cause analysis support to vendors and cross-functional partners.
  • Collect and record data using basic measuring tools.
  • Evaluate data for trends leading to Corrective Actions.
  • Perform QC evaluations on individual products as compared to standards.
  • Perform inspections on product.

Vendor Performance, Value Engineering Support, Process Improvements

  • Provide support to worldwide contract manufacturing operations.
  • Will assist as needed to support program under guidance from more Sr QA Associates
  • Communicate Quality Assurance policies and procedures to vendors and internal cross-functional partners.
  • Support vendors as needed for pre-production and production issues.
  • Monitor vendor’s performance and troubleshoot issues to drive continuous improvement.
  • Perform inspections of merchandise to determine acceptability of product and compliance to specifications.

Talent Management and Development

  • Create individual development plan and personal performance objectives

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • 1-3 years quality experience.
  • Experience in quality planning, project management, quality control processes, statistical techniques
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work with great urgency through high pressure problem solving
  • Comfortable performing multifaceted projects along with day-to-day activities.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
  • Service oriented but assertive and persuasive.
  • Able to interact with all levels of personnel and management (internally or externally)
  • Organizational, interpersonal, and strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to travel (10 – 20%) as needed to support QA Team.
  • Competent Computer Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physical or Natural Sciences required
